About Us
London 2012 inspired us to set up the Burnley Best Table Tennis Club originally located at The Best Centre in Burnley.
As our club grew the local league invited us to enter two teams for competitive match play, which we did in 2013. Since then our club has gone from strength to strength with new players arriving and standards of play improving. We now have 4 teams in the East Lancashire League, two of which are in the premier division. Our players have worked their way up winning many league, cup and competition trophies along the way.
Rest assured though, we are here for the enjoyment and love of table tennis and welcome players of all abilities. We also have a very active WhatsApp group where players can catch up with latest club and league news, and chat.
As of September 2025 we are excited to have found a new home at the Vanguard Community Centre in Burnley, with it comes a change of name to the Vanguard Table Tennis Club.

East Lancashire League
We encourage all our regular players to get involved in local league table tennis. The league has four divisions and supports a wide variety of player levels from beginners upwards. The league runs from September-April.
We now have four teams in the East Lancashire Table Tennis League, Vanguard Raptors [Premier Division], Vanguard Phantoms [Premier Division], Vanguard Jets [First Division], and Vanguard Tornados [Second Division].
Visiting Teams
If you are a visiting team please note our matches start at 7.15pm. Scroll down for how to find us and parking information.

News
Yes, all are welcome, we will always have at least one practice table up for those not playing in a league match. If you’re on your own there will always be someone willing to give you some games. Please note you will not have exclusive use of a practice table during the session.
Each session is £5 and you can play from approximately 7pm to 9pm on match nights and from 7pm to 10pm on non match nights.
Absolutely, we all had to start somewhere.
On league match nights we have two match tables and one practice table available, if only one home team is playing then we will have two practice tables set up. On non-match nights we have three or four practice tables available.
There is a small car park for 8 cars at the top of Bevington Close, there is also parking outside the venue for 4 further vehicles. On road parking is available however we politely request that you are courteous to our neighbours and do not block any access. Also please do not park opposite the venue, if you wish to park on the road please park on the venue side.
Our league matches start at 7.15pm so that we are able to finish as close to 10pm as possible.
We encourage all of our regular players to get involved in the league. We have 4 teams from the premiership down to division 2 so we can find a spot for you based on ability. There are however restrictions as to when we can add new players to a team mid season.
We are also looking to enter a team in the 3rd Division for the 26/27 season for less experienced players. If you want to get involved pay us a visit.
