Darren’s report of the night

Well done to Liam ‘the lion’ Walsh on an impressive win over arch rival team mate Dylan ‘Jam King’ Storey. Following 17 entries to GP1 it was required to have a qualifier to reach round 1! It was a great debut by Mick ‘Peter Kay’ Hill who despite 25 x 5 set matches walked away with a solid 6 points start and could be a real contender to the Ballon De Table Tennis Gong at the end of the series. Gary ‘Lights out’ Broughton remains the only injury doubt in the squad and missed last nights event still struggling with a swollen little toe. Despite Steve ‘Big Show’ Briggs’ timely new years resolution to make a welcome comeback and conquer the Table Tennis World he has not been seen since staring in Downton Abbey on New Years Day.
The next Grand Prix will take place next Monday. On a mission to be more exciting that Formula 1 and Bernie Eccllestons Nights Outs The committee and his Dog have decided that every now and again a Grand Prix will be worth double points! ooooooooooooooooooooooo!
